Having a suspended ceiling can bring you many rewards, such as improved air circulation and soundproofing. And as well as these perks, with the range of options available these days, we think they can look great too.
However, it’s not always easy to decide on the right suspended ceiling lighting for you. It can be a bit of a minefield. So, to shed some light on the subject, we’ve outlined the two most common options below.
LED Panel Lights
If you’re looking to save a few pounds, LED panel lights are a cost-effective way of lighting your suspended ceiling. They consume a small amount of energy but generate a similar number of lumens as their fluorescent counterparts.
LED panels are an excellent option for commercial suspended ceiling lights and are available in all shapes, sizes and wattages. Better still, you won’t need to replace them any time soon. Most of them boast a seriously impressive life expectancy of 50,000 hours. The bulbs are built into the fitting but you won’t need to replace them for around 15 years – and in most cases, even longer – so this isn’t an issue.
Mounted Lights
Mounted lights are also well worth considering when choosing your suspended ceiling lights. However, you need to make sure they’re installed properly because they’re supported by the ceiling above the suspended grid system. Once fitted correctly, mounted lights can hang below the ceiling or flush against the surface.
